As a non-technical senior leader I’m often frustrated by the ever increasing volume of technical jargon I need to understand. A naturally curious soul, I always seek out good explanations but so often they are written by technical experts who can’t bridge from their world to mine. This book is a welcome exception – each term is defined and explained in clear and engaging language, with great (often visual) metaphors. And the print copy I bought is beautifully type-set making for quick and effective reading. I’m looking forward to using my new Cyber know-how in upcoming leadership team discussions!
Not only does this short and easy read do exactly what it says on the cover, it’s an enjoyable introduction to how AI is integrated into all aspects of life and business. I read and re-read it within the same week, as the examples are diverse and fascinating, and the explanations are non-technical without patronising the reader. It also serves as an easy reference, given how it’s structured alphabetically, and I feel it’s the first time I’ve read something explaining AI that has made me more interested and less fearful (of both my ignorance and the implications). I would highly recommend.
This book makes me want to hop on a plane immediately and head to Florence. It is full of insightful tips on local finds helpfully organized by what I am looking for (rooftop bars, aperitivo places, local favorite restaurants, new gelato places, markets) with tips on where reservations are needed, which are market days and what to order at local places. It also includes information on things I didn’t know I wanted but do now- a tour of amazing women in Florence? perfume making? a Negroni lesson with cheese tasting at sunset? Plus it recommends small boutique hotels instead of the usual. It saved me hours of googling. I just wish I had one for every city. Clearly the author knows and loves Florence and it is infectious.
